There’s something about getting older that changes the way you see your body.

At 25… even at 30… I (Jen) truly believed I had all the time in the world. I didn’t think much about what I was eating. Exercise felt optional. My focus was on raising babies, managing a home, and stepping into adult life. Health wasn’t something I ignored on purpose—it just didn’t feel urgent.

I felt invincible to time.

And now, at 47, I can see things more clearly.

I can feel the years I didn’t pay attention. The choices that didn’t seem like a big deal back then have added up. And if I’m being honest, there are moments when I catch myself wondering… did I miss my chance at a healthy body? Is it really just too late?

Is It Too Late to Start Taking Care of Your Health?

This is a question so many women ask, especially in their 40s and beyond.

The answer is simple, but it’s also something we have to choose to believe:

It is never too late to do something good for your body.

Our bodies are incredibly adaptable. They respond to nourishment, movement, and care at any age. Even small changes—more protein, balanced meals, daily movement, better sleep—can begin to shift how we feel.

Tomorrow is still the future.

And what we do today still matters.

The Mindset Shift That Changes Everything

For a long time, I wished I could go back and talk to my 25-year-old self. I would tell her to eat differently, to move her body, to pay attention sooner.

But recently, I came across a perspective that stopped me in my tracks.

Instead of wishing for a time machine to go backward… imagine you’re 90 years old, and you’ve been given the chance to come back to right now.

What would your 90-year-old self tell you to do?

What would she wish you hadn’t ignored?
What habits would she beg you to start?
What would she thank you for changing today?

That shift changes everything.

Because now, this moment becomes your opportunity—not your regret.

How to Start Supporting Your Health Today

I’ve got a pretty deep hole of bad health to dig myself out of. Auto-immune diseases, chronic inflammation and pain, extra weight that just won’t budge.

As much as I want to, I know I don’t need to, and can’t, overhaul my entire life overnight. In fact, the most sustainable changes are often the simplest ones.

So, I start here:

  • Build meals around protein to support blood sugar and energy
  • Add gentle, consistent movement everyday
  • Focus on simple, nourishing routines instead of perfection
  • Reduce decision fatigue with easy systems (like prepping dinner in the morning)

These small, consistent actions create momentum. And over time, they truly do create real change.

Final Thoughts: You’re Not Too Late

Like me, if you’ve ever felt like you’ve wasted years or missed your window, you’re not alone.

But you’re also not done.

Your future is still being shaped—right now, in the choices you make today.

So instead of looking back with regret, try looking forward with intention.

Because one day, you’ll be the 90-year-old version of yourself…
And she’ll be so grateful for what you started today.
